Silly Sammy's Scavenger Hunt in McGraft Park June 17th in Muskegon

Are you familiar with Sammy the Frog?  No?  Well, you're going to want to be as Sammy is set for Silly Sammy's Scavenger Hunt at McGraft Park in Muskegon on June 17th.

A little history maybe?  Ok!

Sammy the Frog is a character created by Jamie Chester, she's a mom and a kids author from Muskegon.  Sammy is the subject of three books now.  They include "Sammy and His Lucky Hat", "Sammy the Frog and Princess Power" and "Sammy and the Bouncing Ball Race".  The message in the books, is belief in dreams, building confidence and establishing good and positive habits.  They are all something we could use a little more of.

Like anyone, Sammy wants to reach a few more people with his message, so on Saturday June 17th there will be an event that incorporates some of Sammy's adventures into a scavenger hunt at McGraft Park.  From Sammy's site - " This event will lead you through a silly adventure on the McGraft Park Trail. The scavenger hunt will include a  map to help find items from  Sammy the Frog Book Series. Free Medals and PRIZES awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group.  One Free Sammy and His Lucky Hat Book for each family that registers."   The cost is $10 and all the proceeds go to foster care of mostly people, but there might be a little left over for foster pets too.

I was able to catch up with Jamie at McGraft Park to talk a little more about the event, the inspiration behind Sammy and here desire to put on a fun event for great causes.  Take a listen to our chat below!

It's a fun way to get out, get the kids away from the TV or video games and enjoy the splendid beauty of McGraft Park.  You'll be able to enjoy some music from Project 90 at the band shell and you'll probably find a bit of light refreshment there.  What an awesome way to support a local author, the need for foster care awareness and become familiar with Sammy and all he does to help inspire yung minds through reading.  To visit Sammy's site, click on the image below.
